Every Split Second

1 Corinthians 10:31: Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

Whatsoever is an important and all-inclusive word. I wonder how much of what I do is done without giving God a single thought. When we get to Heaven every split second will belong to Him. Zero time will be wasted on something else. The more of our moments we give Him here and now, the more like Heaven our life on earth will be.

Matthew 6:33: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Matthew 12:36: But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

Psalms 113:3: From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD*S name is to be praised.

Learn to use your time with eternity in view. That viewpoint will transform your attitude toward even routine and uninspiring tasks. There is nothing religious about emptying the garbage, or scrubbing the kitchen floor, or diapering the baby. But if you think of using time for God, it puts His touch of glory on the commonplace.

The next time you have something to do that bothers you (because, as the lady said about housework, *It*s so daily,* and you*re tired of it and bored), look heavenward and say, *Lord Jesus, I*m going to do this for You.* You*ll be surprised, my friend, at the difference it will make in your own attitude and in the quality of your work.

One of the things you must learn to do in managing your time is to prioritize your schedule of activities each day. The word priority means *to give first place, in sequence, to the things to be done.*

So make your list, starting with the most important thing. But before that, beloved, look up and say, *Dear Lord, sharpen my mind. Give me Your thoughts about this thing I*m about to do and help me to do it well, for Your glory.* Then go from item to item in the same spirit of commitment and expectancy.

Small thought here. Buy up the opportunities. Use them for eternal worth. That doesn*t mean you will go around *being religious* all the time. It does mean that you can dedicate the whole day, every split second of it, to your Lord and Savior.
